Lyallpur Literary Council (LLC) is a nonprofit organization, registered under The Societies Registration Act 1860, and certified by the Pakistan Center for Philanthropy.

Founded by a group of like-minded people with rich and diverse experience in business, education, literature, social development and philanthropy, LLC is working towards conserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan with emphasis on literature, poetry, music, arts, festivals, architecture, etc. However, the major focus of LLC is to foster and strengthen the culture of Punjab and promote the historical as well as contemporary significance of the city of Lyallpur (Faisalabad). It provides a platform for literary enthusiasts, artists, and scholars, especially the youth, to connect, learn and appreciate the diverse aspects of native literature, arts and culture.

The major initiatives of LLC include organizing Literary Festivals to foster literature, intellectual discourse, and cultural exchange in Lyallpur. It has been organizing the Faisalabad Literary Festival (FLF) consecutively for the last 10 years, bringing together acclaimed the greatest writers, novelists, poets, artists and intellectuals of our time in Lyallpur, who interact with audiences comprising people from diverse age groups and all walks of life and share their life-long insights and experiences. The event has been particularly effective in motivating the youth towards objective thinking and book reading and has become a part of the cultural fabric of Lyallpur.

LLC also organizes the Lyallpur Punjabi Suleekh Mela annually. The festival’s primary objective is to promote the Punjabi language and facilitate the convergence of local and international audiences comprising scholars, authors, poets, political and social analysts, students and the diaspora, for engaging in discussions on global policies, history, politics, human rights, entrepreneurship, and media. The Lyallpur Punjabi Literary Festival stands as the world’s largest literary celebration of the Punjabi language and has gained popularity among the diverse Punjabi-speaking population worldwide, totaling around 160 million.
